Called to Worship - a practical guide for those involved in leading worship
Sons and DaughtersWhen the seventy two returned after their mission, (Luke 10), reveling in the fact that even the demons submitted to them in Jesus’ name, Jesus gave them some sober advice. He told them not to rejoice that the demons submitted to them, (that they had a ‘deliverance’ ministry), but to rejoice that their names were written in heaven. The highest calling that God has on our lives is not to be pastors or worship leaders or to have any other type of ministry or title; it is to be sons and daughters of God. Jesus is reminding the disciples, and us, that our identity and security are to be found not in what we do but in who we are; sons and daughters of the living God. This is the safest and most secure platform from which to move out into ministry.
